2016 foi intenso para Barei. Ela passou de artista independente e desconhecida a representante da Espanha no Eurovision com um contrato assinado com a Universal Music.
Um ano depois, as coisas voltaram a se acalmar. A cantora madrilenha decidiu terminar a sua relação profissional com a gravadora e dar início a seu próprio selo discográfico: BareiMusic.
Para marcar essa nova fase, ela acaba de lançar o single I Don’t Need To Be You, um tema pop-dançante com uma mensagem importante contra o bullying.
“I Don’t Need To Be You fala de uma mudança necessária frente ao bullying e à intimidação que muitos adolescentes sofrem”, explicou Barei. “Essa uma é uma mensagem de aceitação”.
